Liposuction is one of the most requested cosmetic procedures for body-contouring. Fatty tissue that is non-responsive to diet and exercise can be indefinitely removed leaving you with a sculpted, toned shape. Liposuction is a highly-individualized procedure and unique for every patient. Results can be as dramatic or subtle as you like.
Liposuction Can Treat:
- Abdomen and waist
How Does It Work?
Your outpatient liposuction procedure will be performed in Image Surgical Arts’ state-of-the-art surgical center. Dr. Harris uses the most up-to-date equipment and surgical techniques for the best possible outcome and minimal downtime. A small incision is made, and a thin cannula tube is inserted into predetermined areas before pockets of fat are removed via suction methods. One or more areas can be treated during the same session. Liposuction is great for patients who also want to add volume to another part of their body with a fat-transfer procedure.
When Can I Expect to See Results?*
You’ll be able to see a thinner looking you in the mirror immediately following your liposuction treatment. However, your new contours will continue to develop as swelling and fluid retention subside. Although it can take up to several months to see your final figure, most women are happy with their slimmer physique in just a few weeks. Results from liposuction are long-lasting. Maintaining a stable weight and general fitness can prevent the need for future treatments.
Does It Hurt?*
The procedure itself is done under either general or local anesthesia with IV sedation depending on the area being treated and your personal preference. You may experience soreness after the anesthesia wears off and a few days following your procedure. After several days, pain-levels will decrease steadily, but you may feel uncomfortable for a couple weeks. Wearing a compression garment can help with healing and re-shaping and is provided to you by Image Surgical Arts .
A good candidate for liposuction is one who is in otherwise good physical health and desires to reduce the volume of fat that hasn’t been successfully lost with diet and exercise. Your skin elasticity plays a major role in if you’ll have a positive outcome from the procedure. Dr. Harris will complete a full evaluation at your initial consultation. Because smoking impairs the healing process, non-smokers are more likely to achieve desired results.
