Introducing Qwo® | Cellulite Injectable

women buttocks - QWO

Cellulite is a frustrating skin condition that affects nearly 90% of women. But the problem is not what you might think. Cellulite is not caused by excess fat, nor is it caused by poor muscle tone. Although dieting and exercise may help improve the appearance of cellulite in some women, it is important to address the underlying structural problem for better and longer lasting results.

What is QWO®?

QWO® is an injectable medication specifically formulated to reduce moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks. It is FDA-approved and clinically proven to produce significant results in adult women. As with any cosmetic procedure, individual results can vary.

What is Cellulite?

Cellulite isn’t harmful, just unsightly. It can be present even for those who keep squats in the regular routine. Unfortunately, a lumpy, wavy, dimpled backside can be embarrassing.

Cellulite is caused by tiny fibrous bands that adhere the skin to underlying muscle. In some women, these connections are taut enough to pull the skin down, allowing surrounding fat cells to push up, which causes the surface skin to appear rumpled. This can happen regardless of your weight or musculature.

About QWO® Treatments

QWO is injected directly into the targeted cellulite, using a fine needle. It is safe for most women and it works, but medical researchers aren’t entirely sure why it works. They believe that the enzymes in QWO (called collagenase clostridium histolyticum) target and dissolve the fibrous bands, which allows subsurface fat to re-settle more smoothly. QWO may also stimulate natural collagen production.

We are able to treat the entire buttock (both cheeks) in each treatment session. The injections take only about 10 minutes. Most patients require three treatments. Because the appearance and location of cellulite can vary tremendously from one person to another, we develop an individually-tailored treatment plan for each patient. We typically schedule them 21 days apart. The great news is that there is no downtime required following treatment so you can resume normal activity right away. However, bruising can be significant and should be expected as part of your recovery.

Possible Side Effects

Common side effects following QWO injections include warmth, swelling, itching, redness or discoloration, areas of hardness, pain or bruising in the treatment area. These are temporary and typically disappear within 3 weeks. Patients often report less bruising after subsequent treatments.

In some cases, QWO can cause more serious side effects, such as allergic reactions. If you are specifically allergic to collagenases, you should not get QWO treatments. And if you’re pregnant or breast-feeding, you should discuss that with us so we can decide together whether you should wait to get treatment.

QWO® Results

As with all treatments, each woman’s results may be different. In clinical studies, patients who received a series of 3 QWO injections saw noticeably visible reduction in moderate to severe cellulite after 10 weeks. Take a look at some incredible results, right here.
