If you’d like to enhance the size and shape of naturally small breasts or breasts that have lost volume as a result of aging, pregnancy, nursing, or weight fluctuation, you may be a good candidate for breast augmentation.

Since many women who are interested in breast augmentation lead busy professional lives, they often ask us “when can I return to work after my breast augmentation?” Below, we explore the answer to this question.

What to Expect From Breast Augmentation Recovery

Due to the fact that every woman has a different pain tolerance and natural recovery response, recovering from breast augmentation surgery varies from woman to woman. The first few days after the procedure, you will likely experience light to moderate soreness which can be managed by pain medication and muscle relaxers. Most women describe their recovery as more of a soreness rather than actual pain.

During this time, you may also face mild breast swelling and bruising in the chest area. Fortunately, a surgical bra and compression bandages can help reduce this discomfort. If you work a desk job with minimal physical activity, you may be able to return to work a week after your surgery. However, if your job requires heavy lifting and/or strenuous activity, you may need to relax and recover for more than a week before resuming work and other responsibilities.

After about two weeks after surgery, women can typically resume light, non-jarring exercise. About a month after your surgery, you should feel comfortable enough to return to your regular exercise routine.

Benefits of Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation surgery offers a plethora of benefits. Most importantly, it can boost your self-esteem while giving you a positive body image. If you choose to undergo this procedure, you can increase breast volume and fullness and enjoy a more proportionate figure.

In addition, you may be able to wear the sexy bikini, lacy bra, or strapless dress that you’ve not been able to wear in the past. You can say goodbye to padded bras and can reap the benefits of sexy cleavage in low cut shirts or dresses. You’ll feel sexier and more feminine and be able to go through life feeling confident in your own skin.
