Arm, Thigh, Body Lift in Nashville, TN

Lax skin and fat that is non-responsive to diet and exercise can occur due to significant changes in weight, the natural aging process, or as a result of genetics. An arm lift, thigh lift, or more extensive body lift procedure can restore smoother, more comfortable and more pleasing contours.

These procedures are performed by our triple-board-certified cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Brady Harris, in Image Surgical Arts’ state-of-the-art surgical facility in Nashville, TN. Arm lift, thigh lift, and body lift are outpatient procedures, so you will be able to return home the same day.

Arm Lift

An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that addresses loose, sagging skin and stubborn fat pockets on the under portion of the arm. Women who find themselves uncomfortable wearing short-sleeves or fitted shirts because of droopy arms may want to consider enlisting the help of an arm lift.

An arm lift can:

  • Remove excess skin
  • Tighten and smooth underlying tissue
  • Reduce pockets of fat
  • Help you regain confidence
  • Provide a better fit for clothing

How Does an Arm Lift Work?

Dr. Brady Harris works meticulously to tighten loose skin. Liposuction is always used to remove localized pockets of fat. Because the procedure involves removing excess skin, a scar is inevitable. However, Dr. Harris has helped pioneer a new technique called the Image Surgical Arts Staple Shape Brachioplasty that allows for a much shorter scar and one that does not go onto the axilla or chest wall. The majority of patients feel their scar is an acceptable consequence when compared to the benefits of their arm lift. Dr. Harris works closely with every patient, individually, to help them achieve their desired outcome.

When Can I Expect to See Results?

Smoother, tighter contours should be evident immediately. Results will improve over time as swelling and bruising subside over the course of several weeks. An arm lift provides long-term results. However, changes in weight can alter the outcome of the procedure, so maintaining a well-balanced diet with regular exercise is important.

Thigh Lift

A thigh lift uses a variety of body contouring techniques to correct the visible signs of aging on the inner thigh. As we get older, gravity, fluctuations in weight and loss of skin tone can contribute to saggy or flabby thighs. Thigh lifts are a highly-customizable procedure that can be tailored to your body type to help you meet your ultimate goals.

A thigh lift can:

  • Reshape the inner thigh
  • Tighten loose, sagging skin
  • Remove excess fat
  • Provide a better fit for clothing
  • Improve overall body image and self-confidence

How Does It Work?

Dr. Harris works to surgically tighten and remove excess skin on the inner thighs giving you a thinner, more youthful-looking appearance. Dr. Harris is a highly-skilled cosmetic surgeon and has the knowledge and training to keep scars to a minimum. Dr. Harris includes liposuction for all thigh lift procedures he performs.

When Can I Expect to See Results?

Noticeable results will be visible immediately following your thigh lift. You’ll see improved skin quality with a smoother look and feel. Although swelling and post-surgical bruising can mask some results initially, these side effects should subside over several weeks. It may take several months for the final outcome of your procedure to fully develop.

Body Lift

A body lift is a combination of surgical procedures aimed at reshaping and enhancing body contours after significant weight loss or aging. Loose, sagging skin, as well as fat pockets that are non-responsive to exercise, can be addressed with the procedure. Patients who have had a gastric bypass or other weight loss procedure often undergo a body lift to remove unwanted excess skin. Arm lifts and thigh lifts, described above, are often included in a body lift procedure.

A body lift can treat:

  • Abdomen
  • Waist
  • Inner/Outer thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Hips
  • Chest
  • Upper Back

How Does a Body Lift Work?

Dr. Brady Harris will perform your body lift in Image Surgical Arts’ state-of-the-art surgical facility in Nashville, TN. The procedure is done as an outpatient surgery under general anesthesia. Over the course of your procedure, Dr. Harris will work to meticulously sculpt and contour your body using a combination of liposuction and skin excision to improve its natural appearance. Loose skin is tightened and removed, fat deposits are trimmed, and liposuction is incorporated depending on your individual needs. The smallest incisions possible are used to help ensure the best results with the least amount of downtime. Dr. Harris is skilled at placing scars where they can be hidden whenever possible.

When Can I Expect to See Results?

A body lift provides instant, long-lasting results. You’ll see continued improvement as swelling and fluid retention dissipate over the course of several months. Patients who have had significant weight loss may require multiple procedures for different body areas to achieve their desired results. Although it is normal for some skin laxity to return over time, most patients do not require maintenance treatments. When they do, these treatments can often be non-surgical using the latest technology available at Image Surgical Arts.

More to Consider

Does an Arm/Thigh/Body Lift Hurt?

These procedures may be done under either general anesthesia or through intravenous sedation and local anesthetic, giving you as much comfort as possible. Immediately after your surgery and for several days, it’s not uncommon to feel sore or tender in the area. Any discomfort should steadily decrease after 5-7 days, but you may feel uncomfortable and more easily fatigued for a bit longer. Expect to take 7-10 days off work. Consult Dr. Harris beforehand if you have a more strenuous job.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Women (or men) who are self-conscious about wearing sleeveless or fitted tops might benefit from an arm lift and those who have sagging skin or unwanted fat in the lower half of the body may be suited for a thigh lift. A good candidate for a body lift is someone with a significant amount of excess skin after weight loss or gastric bypass surgery. The ideal candidate for any surgical procedure is a non-smoker who is in good physical and emotional health. Having maintained a stable weight for at least six months will also make you a good candidate.

We require all surgical patients to abstain from nicotine for six weeks before and after surgery for your safety during surgery and to promote proper healing during your recovery. Dr. Harris will complete a full body assessment and create a treatment plan based on your body type to help you achieve your desired outcome.
