Facelifts are a popular cosmetic procedure among those who wish to restore a more youthful appearance. The physical effects of aging, sun exposure, gravity, and stress can mask your natural beauty. At Image Surgical Arts of Nashville, we offer several types of surgical and non-surgical facelifts that can be customized to fit your individual needs and ultimate goals.
A Facelift Can:
- Eliminate excess skin and fat in the neck and jowl
- Improve facial volume
- Lift your brow and eye area
- Reduce scars, wrinkles, and blemishes
- Restore a visible jawline
How Does It Work?
Surgical facelifts are performed as an outpatient procedure in image Surgical Arts’ state-of-the-art surgical facility. Well-hidden incisions are made along the hairline and around the ear allowing Dr. Harris to remove excess skin, remove unwanted fat deposits, and tighten underlying muscles. Dr. Harris always combines liposuction of the neck and jowl to improve results. Additional procedures for full facial rejuvenation may be recommended such as tightening the neck muscles that cause neck bands, an upper or lower eye lift, fat transfer for volume addition, and laser skin resurfacing. Dr. Harris is a highly-skilled cosmetic surgeon with years of successful procedures under his belt and a very high patient satisfaction rate. His goal is to reduce your undesirable features and emphasize your natural beauty. A full facial rejuvenation may take anywhere from 3-4 hours.
When Can I Expect to See Results?*
Results from your facelift will be evident immediately following your procedure. As swelling begins to dissipate, you’ll see continued improvement. The majority of swelling should be gone about 2-weeks post-op, however, final results may not be apparent until 3-months after your facelift. You’ll benefit from a dramatically more youthful look that can take 10, or even 15 years off your facial appearance. Facelifts are designed to be a long-lasting procedure.
Does It Hurt?*
Your procedure will be done via intravenous sedation or under general anesthesia to minimize any discomfort. As anesthesia wears off and for several days afterward, pain medication may be necessary, although most patients need very little. Most patients report pain-levels steadily declining about 2-3 days post-surgery. Recovery time typically takes about 2 weeks.
Am I a Good Candidate?
A good candidate for a facelift are men or women who are in good overall health and non-smokers. Because smoking can inhibit the healing process and outcome of your surgery, Dr. Harris requires avoiding all nicotine-containing products for at least six weeks before and after surgery.
