Surgical Lip Lift
A lip lift is a surgical procedure designed to help patients achieve a more aesthetically pleasing overall facial appearance. There are several types of lifts that can address your individual concerns. An upper lift increases fullness for a more voluptuous-looking lip and allows you to show more of the upper teeth when you smile.

If you were born with or acquired less than desirable thin lips from aging, you may be a good candidate for a lip lift. At your in-person consultation, Dr. Harris will do a full facial evaluation to determine if a lip lift is right for you. Patients with less distance between the nose and lip may only see a small improvement with an upper lift. As with all surgical procedures, patients who are in good general health, non-smokers, and have realistic expectations are more likely to achieve their desired outcome.
A Lip Lift Can:
- Elevate the position of the upper lip
- Increase fullness for plump lips
- Improve the entire outline of the mouth
- Expose more teeth when smiling or talking
- Decrease the distance between the nose and upper lip
- Provide balance to the overall appearance of the face

Lip Lift: The Procedure
This is a relatively simple procedure with big impact. Dr. Harris will make a tiny incision below the base of the nose and carefully lift the upper lip. This will shorten the distance between the nose and lip and also roll the pink portion of the lip outward to reveal more of it. The combination of these two maneuvers can create a more youthful, rejuvenated upper lip.
Your lip lift will be performed in our state-of-the-art, on-site surgical facility so there's no need to check in to a hospital. Dr. Harris believes in the artistry of cosmetic surgery as much as the medical knowledge. He will be diligent in creating subtle, natural looking results.
Lip Lift: Recovery & Results
Lip lifts are often well-tolerated with only a local numbing anesthetic. Some patients opt to return to work several days after their procedure, however, makeup should be avoided to the incision site for 7-10 days as you heal. Common side effects include swelling, slight bruising, and mild pain. Medication can be prescribed to manage any discomfort during your healing time.
Some initial results can be seen immediately following your lip lift. Swelling decreases dramatically within a week and the majority of swelling should be gone about 1-month post-op. Thin, flat lips are transformed into a fuller, more youthful set. A lip lift is a long-term procedure, and most patients only need to have one in their lifetime.
