Upper & Lower Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty, more commonly known as an eyelid lift, is a surgical procedure designed to restore a more youthful appearance. Eyelid surgery can be done on the upper lid, the lower lid, or both. Typically, the procedure is done for cosmetic purposes, but in some cases, it can be done for medical reasons such as obstructed sight.
Upper & Lower Blepharoplasty Can:
- Enhance the overall facial appearance
- Remove puffy eyelids and dark circles
- Provide a more rested appearance
- Correct wrinkles or deep folds that cause droopiness
- Provide more open, alert eyes
How Does It Work?
Blepharoplasty surgeries are performed in Image Surgical Arts’ state-of-the-art surgical facility as an outpatient procedure. Dr. Brady Harris makes precise incisions hidden in the natural folds of the eye to remove excess fat pads and skin that are causing you to look older than you are. The procedure takes about 1-hour and can be customized to treat your individual needs. An eyelid lift can be paired with a number of other cosmetic procedures such as a facelift, brow lift, neck lift, and/or laser skin resurfacing for more dramatic results.
When Can I Expect to See Results?*
Immediately following your eyelid lift, you’ll notice a fresher-looking facial appearance. Gradual improvement will continue to occur as post-surgical swelling subsides over the course of a couple weeks. Results from blepharoplasty are long-lasting, and most patients only require one in a lifetime.
Does It Hurt?*
The majority of patients find the procedure quite tolerable. Most blepharoplasty surgeries are done with a local anesthetic and under light intravenous sedation or an inhaled analgesic to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. In many cases, you can return to work in as little as 2-3 days. However, full recovery time can take up to 1-week or more.
Am I a Good Candidate?
An eyelid lift may be right for you if you’re unhappy with your overall facial appearance as a result of aging. Men and women who are non-smokers typically have the best outcome from blepharoplasty. Dr. Harris will complete a full facial evaluation to determine if you’re a good candidate for an upper or lower blepharoplasty, or both.
