Botox® is trusted by millions of men and women around the globe. This FDA-approved injectable has been around for decades and is clinically proven to be safe and effective for various uses. Botox® uses micro-doses of a botulinum toxin to temporarily stop nerve-muscle communication, thus minimizing the appearance of dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movements.

AtImage Surgical Arts, our highly trained injectors uses their artistry, skill, and precision placement to produce natural-looking results with minimal complication risk. We have a wide array of neurotoxins to choose from, including Dysport, Xeomin, and Botox. We’ve helped countless men and women achieve their desired goals safely with Botox® injections.33 year old caucasian woman dysport frown lines-1

What Happens During Treatment?

Treatments are generally quick, easy, and nearly pain-free. Your injection specialist will speak with you about your concerns as well as your goals. Then they’ll mark the desired treatment area in preparation for injection. Botox® is then placed at precise depths for an optimal outcome. The entire process often takes less than 30 minutes, allowing you to return to your normal day.

What is Botox® FDA-Approved to Treat?

Botox® is FDA-approved for a variety of medical and cosmetic applications. At Image Surgical Arts, we often use Botox® to treat:

  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Smile/laugh lines
  • Bunny lines
  • Frown lines between brows
  • Excessive sweating
  • Lax lower eyelid skin

Less common uses for Botox® include treating excessive sweating, migraines, and muscle spasms/stiffness. Botox® is safe and effective as needed to maintain an optimal outcome.

Botox®: Side Effects and Complications

Side effects with Botox® are generally minimal and subside on their own with time. However, you may experience some swelling, redness, tenderness, and in rare cases bruising at or around the injection site. More severe side effects can include facial numbness, headaches, drooping eyelids, and/or excessive tearing.

The good news is that when done correctly, the majority of unwanted side effects are avoidable. By choosing a skilled injector specialist, you can rest easy knowing you’ll get natural-looking results for your individual aging pattern.

Who Should Not Get Botox®?

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not candidates for Botox®. However, Botox® has been proven to be safe and effective for most adults 18 and older. One of our skilled providers will assess your candidacy for the injectable at the time of your in-person consultation.
