Facelifts are the gold-standard for men and women who want to restore the youthful glow of the past. Let’s face it. Fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin can adversely affect the way others perceive us as well as how we see ourselves. Facelifts can reduce visible signs of aging and improve our overall profile giving us an instant confidence boost.
Surgical techniques have significantly improved over the last hundred years. At Image Surgical Arts, triple board-certified cosmetic surgeon Dr. Brady Harris uses the latest advancements and technology to provide patients with a natural, more youthful and rested appearance.
Facelifts are done as an outpatient procedure and take about 3 hours to perform. Dr. Harris will meticulously work to make easily-concealable incisions along the hairline before removing excess fat, repositioning underlying muscles, and tightening skin. He’ll then carefully close the wounds in a way that minimizes healing times and the potential for scarring.
After your procedure, you’re free to go home the same day. As anesthesia begins to wear off, you’ll likely need to enlist the help of painkillers. The majority of pain should subside within 2-3 days post-op. Dr. Harris may encourage patients to take at least 2-weeks off work or possibly more if your job is considered ‘strenuous’.
Although you should be feeling more like yourself after only a few days, it can take upwards of 3 months for residual “micro” swelling and redness to dissipate. It’s recommended that you ease into your regular routine during this time.
At your in-person consultation, Dr. Harris will perform a full facial evaluation and talk to you about your end-goals. Depending on your individual situation, he may suggest a two-in-one procedure combining a facelift and neck lift for more dramatic results with a single recovery time. He’ll also be available to answer any questions you may have and discuss your personalized treatment plan in-depth.
