Breast augmentation is a procedure that has been around for decades and continues to be improved with the latest technology and advanced medical practices. Each year breast augmentations give hundreds of thousands of women a renewed sense of confidence. This increasingly popular procedure helps women who want to enlarge their breasts or restore volume and shape lost due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, aging, or weight loss.

Patients are typically so delighted with the result that breast implants receive a 95% “worth it” rating on RealSelf.

Will You Be Delighted?

At Image Surgical Arts, we’re huge advocates for patients doing diligent research on procedures they are considering. You want to learn about how breast augmentation works, time commitment required, what to expect during and after your procedure, cost, etc. Of course this includes researching potential risks and side effects and also any personal concerns you may have.

It’s important to get all the facts before deciding if breast augmentation is right for you. If it is, you can move forward with confidence. Feeling comfortable with your decision is the first step toward a successful procedure.

Ultimately, the best way to get answers you can trust is to speak to a professional. We’ve all searched online only to find results that quickly make our heads spin. As you do your research, if you have questions you can call or text us at 615-499-4224 and we would be happy to discuss them with you.

Top Concerns About Breast Augmentation

Reduced Sensation

Some women report numbness or pain in their breasts or nipples, which can be caused by nerve damage. However, this is a rare event and if numbness does occur it is rarely permanent.

Breastfeeding

Women often ask us if they have to wait until they are finished having children to get a breast augmentation. What if you have surgery, then later on have another child and want to breastfeed? You can read more about that here, but the short answer is that surgery, even with nipple surgery, does not stop most women from breastfeeding. However, it is possible that some women may produce less milk after breast implant surgery.

Will I Get the Results I Want?

This is the ultimate concern, of course. We know you are excited about the possibilities, but we also know you will be most pleased with your results if your expectations are realistic. Reviewing lots of before and after photos can give you a realistic idea of what changes you might also expect. Focus on pictures of women about your own age with similar “before” concerns to get the best idea. Keep in mind that another woman’s aesthetic goal may have been different from yours, and above all, remember that the goal of any cosmetic surgery is always improvement. There are no perfect breasts.

Ready for the Next Step?
